Brandon Walker litigates complex securities fraud class actions, merger and acquisition cases, and shareholder derivative suits on behalf of private investors, public pension funds, banks, unions and other institutional investors. In addition to developing and analyzing new cases for the firm’s institutional clients, he works on the motions and discovery practice following the initiation of shareholder lawsuits. Brandon currently represents clients in an array of complex shareholder litigation, including: In re Allion Healthcare Inc. Shareholders Litigation; Bennet v. Sprint Nextel Corp., et al.; City of Roseville Employees’ Retirement System v. Boston Scientific Corporation; In re Coca-Cola Enterprises, Inc., Shareholders Litigation; Cornwell v. Credit Suisse Group, et al; Erste-Sparinvest KAG v. Netezza Corp., et al.; In re Force Protection Derivative Litigation; Hill v. State Street Corporation; Landesbank Baden-Württemberg v. Goldman, Sachs & Co., et al.; Manville v. Omnicare, et al.; In re Regions Financial Corp. Derivative Litigation; and In re RehabCare Group, Inc., Shareholders Litigation.
Prior to joining the firm in 2008, Brandon worked as a paralegal at two large plaintiffs’ law firms in New York, managing litigation support for high-profile securities fraud class action cases. In this capacity, he researched and analyzed SEC regulatory findings, coordinated document review and prepared complaints and pleadings in all phases of litigation for cases involving WorldCom, Enron, HealthSouth, Bristol-Myers and other large corporations. He also gained experience in class action litigation as a law clerk for Motley Rice in 2007 and for the Honorable Carl Horn III, of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina in 2005.
As a law student, Brandon served as a research assistant, conducting extensive research on the mutual fund industry with an emphasis on corporate governance and conflicts of interest and was a volunteer on In re Holocaust Victim Assets Litigation, a suit against Germany, Austria and two Swiss banks by more than 4,000 Holocaust survivors.
Brandon earned a Juris Doctor and a Master of Business Administration degree from Wake Forest University in 2008. He graduated New York University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics and Economics. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the South Carolina Bar, the New York State Bar Association and the American Association for Justice.
