MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C., (June 22, 2006) - Motley Rice LLC, one of the nation's largest plaintiff's law firms, today announced that attorney Rhett D. Klok served as a guest speaker in a 90-minute teleconference hosted by the American Bar Association on June 22, 2006, from 1-2:30 PM EST. The presentation was titled, "A Prescription for Confusion? Preemption, the FDA, and the New Drug Labeling Regulation."
With the FDA's new regulations for the requirements and formatting of prescription drug labeling, this teleconference aims to present expert advice on how the new regulations will affect attorneys practicing in pharmaceutical and medical device litigation. In the teleconference, both plaintiff and defense positions and tactics will be addressed. This program will also provide an overview of how the courts are applying the new regulations and preamble.
Klok has worked on a variety of litigation, including environmental remediation cases and individual automobile and medical device cases. He joined Motley Rice attorneys in 2000 and became a Motley Rice LLC Associate in 2003. Although Klok currently practices with the Medical and Transportation Practice Groups focusing on medical devices and vehicle defects, he has litigated asbestos, tobacco and consumer protection cases as well.
After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude from Tulane University, Klok received a law degree from Loyola University School of Law. He currently serves as president of Tulane Alumni Association's Charleston chapter. He is licensed to practice in Louisiana, New Mexico, South Carolina, Texas and Washington, D.C.
