Mt. Pleasant, SC (June 7, 2007) - Motley Rice attorney Suzanne Lafleur Klok has been selected as a faculty member for the "Mediation: A Valuable Tool for Litigators" seminar at the Town & Country Inn & Conference Center in Charleston, SC, on July 26, 2007. Hosted by the National Business Institute (NBI), one of the largest providers of legal and professional education in the U.S., the program provides continuing legal education (CLE) for attorneys on the communications skills and conflict resolution strategies necessary to achieve targeted results, as well as the unique ethics rules governing mediation.
As mediation becomes an increasingly common and popular way to resolve legal disputes and disagreements, it is becoming imperative for attorneys to understand and utilize this method of resolution. Mediation allows parties to address issues in a cost effective and time efficient manner. The NBI seminar will teach litigators how mediation techniques and communications differ from litigation, and how these skills can best assist clients.
Klok is an attorney at Motley Rice LLC, where she works with the Securities and Consumer Fraud practice group. With more than a decade of experience in products liability, personal injury, transportation, tobacco and consumer and commercial fraud litigation, Klok manages many of the firm's settlement processes in the consumer fraud arena as they relate to class action and multi-district litigation. Klok is licensed in Louisiana, New Mexico, South Carolina, Texas and Washington, D.C. She earned a B.A. degree, cum laude, from Tulane University and a M.B.A and J.D. from Loyola University in New Orleans.
