20 years after Lockerbie, aviation security gaps remain

Prior to 9/11, the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland was the deadliest terrorist attack involving Americans. Security experts agree that, because of such attacks, the U.S. now has the strongest aviation security system in the country's history. Study of recent security breaches, congressional testimony and government audits, however, proves that security gaps remain.
