Agency finds that FDA slow to ban researchers convicted of fraud
Investigators for the Government Accountability Office (GAO) say that the Food and Drug Administration's process for banning researchers can take from one to eleven years to complete, meaning that a researcher convicted of fraud may remain eligible to conduct experiments for years after his or her conviction. Representatives for the FDA argue that the administration has significantly improved its banning process.
