Hootie's Homegrown Roundup: Motley Rice Lends a Helping Hand

Motley Rice is proud to sponsor the sixth annual Hootie's Homegrown Roundup: Back to School Basics, a Back to School program held in the Burke High School Gym in downtown Charleston on Saturday, August 18 from noon to 4 p.m. Through Hootie's Homegrown Roundup, more than 1,700 Charleston County School students will receive school supplies and other services necessary to start the 2012-2013 school year. From pencils and notebooks to haircuts and dental exams, some of the Lowcountry's neediest elementary school students will get the support they need through the Roundup to start the school year off right.

Coinciding with Hootie's Homegrown Roundup: Back to School Basics, Hootie & The Blowfish, with special guests, will perform live at the Family Circle Magazine Stadium on Daniel Island also on Aug. 17 and 18. Ticket proceeds from this 10th annual Homegrown Concert benefit the Roundup, and tickets are available for purchase through Ticketmaster.

Motley Rice has been a proud sponsor of Hootie's Homegrown Roundup: Back to School Basics each year since it started in 2007, helping more than 4,000 students get the supplies and services they need to start school. In addition, volunteers from Motley Rice will donate their time assisting at the Roundup and by bringing supplies to the concert.
