Motley Rice's Mary Joyce Carlson to speak at ABA meeting in Istanbul, Turkey

Mary Joyce Carlson, Senior Counsel for Motley Rice, has been invited to speak at the American Bar Association's International Labor and Employment Law Committee 2010 Mid-Year meeting. This meeting will be held from Sunday, May 9, 2010 - Thursday, May 13, 2010 in Istanbul, Turkey, where union, employee and management lawyers from Europe, the Middle East and North America will come together to discuss the legal challenges facing them.

Carlson will be speaking on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 in a panel discussion entitled "Cross-Border Labor Importation and Migration: Implications for U.S. and EU Lawyers." Focusing on labor recruiter/supplier and employer abuses of guestworkers, particularly low wage and mid-level migrant workers, she will include in her presentation cases arising in employment on U.S. military bases in the Middle East and encourage further discussion about abusive practices by labor supply firms based within this region.
