New bill would mandate medical exams for troops exposed to burn pits

Representative Tim Bishop of New York is advocating on behalf of a new bill that would trace the history of each burn pit in Iraq and Afghanistan, create a registry of troops exposed to those burn pits and mandate special medical exams for those troops. This bill follows numerous reports of illness and death allegedly related to burn pit exposure on U.S. military bases.
