Oil spill lawsuit against BP and other corporations discussed by Mississippi charter fishing guide

On May 27, 2010, charter fishing guide Jacob R. Shemper filed a lawsuit against BP and several other drilling defendants involved in the tragic BP oil spill that occurred on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, in the Gulf of Mexico. Motley Rice LLC, along with co-counsel, is representing Shemper and numerous others who are suffering from a serious loss of revenue and ability to earn income due to the damage caused by the oil spill on the area's coastal resources.

As oil damage from the spill increases, Shemper, who has spent 12 years in the fishing industry, is seeing cancellations from potential customers and says that the spill is threatening not only the region's wildlife but his livelihood and that of others in his industry. Shemper's lawsuit joins many others that Motley Rice's environmental lawyers are filing on behalf of those suffering from a similar plight because of the oil spill.
