Public Funds Summit: Motley Rice securities lawyer Rebecca Katz to address public pension plan protection

and Don Migliori will participate in the three-day Public Funds Summit East Conference, "Navigate the Future," hosted by Opal Financial Group in historic Newport, R.I., from July 23 to 25, 2012.
Katz, a former senior counsel for the SEC's Enforcement Division, will offer her perspective as a panelist of a round table discussion entitled, "Legal Issues Facing Public Pension Plans." Moderated by the General Counsel for the NYC Police Pension Fund, the discussion will cover numerous topics of interest to attendees seeking to learn more about how they can best fulfill their fiduciary duties to their funds' beneficiaries, including shareholder activism, investor protection, hedge fund compliance, conflicts of interest, current legislation and regulations, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) updates and more.
