Texting by truck drivers sharply increases crash risk
According to a recent study by the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute, texting while driving far exceeds the dangers of other driving distractions for large trucks. After tracking the drivers of long-haul trucks with cameras in the cabs, the study says the collision risk is 23 times greater when texting than when not texting.
