Burn Pit Waste Materials
According to the Congressional testimony of Anthony Szema, M.D., burning plastics, pesticides, types of solid waste or heavy metals is known to release various toxic gases that may cause permanent, chronic health problems for individuals who have experienced prolonged exposure. The burn pit lawsuits allege that the following products may have been disposed of in the burn pits, resulting in the release of toxic gases.

- Dangerous chemicals

- Hydraulic fluids
- Items containing pesticides
- Lithium batteries
- Medical supplies (including those used during smallpox inoculations)

- Rubber
- Solvents
- Styrofoam
