Professional Staff

Motley Rice's securities litigation team includes several business analysts and professional staff who analyze the securities litigation landscape, track current actions and monitor clients' investment portfolios for potential losses due to fraud.

Ellie Kimmel

Business Analyst Ellie Kimmel began working with Motley Rice attorneys in 2000. Prior to her work with the securities litigation team, she was a founding member of the firm’s central research unit and also supervised the firm’s file management. She completes securities research and client portfolio analysis for the firm’s securities cases.
 
Ellie has a diverse background that includes experience in education as well as the banking industry. She began her career in banking operations, where she served as an operations manager and business analyst in corporate banking support for 14 years. She then spent seven years teaching high school economics, Latin and history before joining Motley Rice.

Andrew Lucas

Andrew Lucas joined Motley Rice in 2010. As a Business Analyst for the Securities and Consumer Fraud practice group, he plays a key role in analyzing investor trading activity related to securities litigation and is responsible for client portfolio monitoring, company research and settlement claims processing.  

Prior to joining Motley Rice, Andrew traded equities, gaining valuable knowledge about the various influences that dictate market performance and drastically impact the short and long-term price movement of company stock.  He also has previous work experience involving both commercial and residential real estate development and sales.

Steffen Moeritz

Since 2006, Moeritz has served as Director of European Investors Relations, working closely with Motley Rice’s Securities and Consumer Fraud practice group to identify, research and communicate the status of securities fraud litigation with European clients. He is responsible for managing the Portfolio Monitoring Service offered by Motley Rice and Sturman LLC to European clients, as well as monitoring their investment portfolios to determine losses and potential recoveries. Additionally, Moeritz manages the preparation and filing of settlement claims.

With knowledge in European law, regulatory matters, commercial law and debt recovery, Moeritz is able to help European clients understand the relationship between the law and furthering business interests.

Moeritz earned a law degree from Martin Luther University in Germany with an emphasis in economics. After spending several years as a legal consultant and business manager in Germany, Moeritz began working with American securities law and European investors as the Foreign Outreach Manager at a New York-based securities firm. He is fluent in both German and English.
