Because of government and industry road blocks to investigation and discovery of airline, security company and airport negligence on 9/11, Motley Rice attorneys launched an unprecedented $20 million dollar worldwide private discovery effort to uncover the industry negligence which made 9/11 possible. Our efforts led our investigators and attorneys to dozens of countries wherein we uncovered such witnesses as an Al Qaeda trained suicide hijacker (who backed out once inside the United States), persons working at major U.S. carriers with links to terrorists, an astonishing collection of documents showing clear knowledge and negligence by the carriers and others of their security shortcomings, and an understanding of the true causes of September 11. As we prepare for the trials of these horrific crashes, we know that one of the causes that we are furthering is airline safety and security, not only for the United States, but for the world. Our pursuit of these cases and evidence, despite legal road blocks, has enabled us to advance our cause to make aviation safer and more secure. Already we have seen changes in the industry because of our efforts, and we anticipate even more change once we bring these cases to completion and further publicly expose this horrible negligence.
MAJOR AIRLINE LITIGATION
Our firm has represented passengers, pilots and other crew and persons injured or killed on the ground in major airline crashes, including not only against the carrier, but also against manufacturers, maintenance contractors, airports and air traffic control and government entities.
REGIONAL CARRIERS
We are currently litigating several cases concerning regional carriers. Our goal is to make their parent carriers more responsible for their regional operations. Often flying small, foreign built jets and paying employees and contractors at substantially lower rates than the major carriers despite flying under the major carriers' names, paint, and logos, the named carriers seem to treat their regional carriers as distant second class operations. Unfortunately, unsuspecting passengers do not understand that when purchasing an airline ticket with a major carrier's name, they may not receive the same level of safety as a major carrier passenger. Plus, there are the additional risks, which we are just now uncovering, that are often associated with these smaller, foreign built aircraft.
