Firepot Lawsuits Filed: Burn victims file suit against Napa Home & Garden
Two separate lawsuits have been filed in South Carolina by couples who allege they were severely burned as a result of Napa Home and Garden Inc., firepots that projected burning eco-gel fuel onto their clothing and skin.
Rachael Smilowitz v. Napa Home & Garden Inc. et al. was filed by two Charleston, S.C., residents, and Satterfield et al. v. Napa Home & Garden Inc., et al. was filed by two Florida residents. The lawsuits both allege negligence on the part of Napa Home and Garden, Inc., the company that made and sold the ceramic or glass firepots, in addition to multiple manufacturers of the gel fuel and packaging.
Although Napa ceased sales of the firepots and gel fuel as a precautionary measure, thousands of these products may remain on the market and in the hands of consumers.
