Firm Nationally Recognized: SCAS and The Legal 500 recognize Motley Rice for securities and toxic tort litigation work
MT. PLEASANT, SC - Motley Rice LLC is proud to announce that it has again been included in both the ISS's 2011 Securities Class Action Services' (SCAS) list of its "top 50 plaintiffs' law firms" and The Legal 500 United States 2012 edition. This is the third consecutive year that Motley Rice has been named to the SCAS 50 list. The SCAS 50 rankings are the result of ISS Inc.'s annual national comparison of law firms. It considers the total dollar amounts reached in securities class action settlements for which a firm served as lead or co-lead counsel, the total number of a firm's settlements and the average value per settlement. Litigation involving non-monetary outcomes such as corporate governance reform is not considered.
"Each us of at Motley Rice is committed to providing a high standard of service to all clients, whether large institutional investors or individual oil spill victims, and I'm proud that we continue to be nationally recognized in our fields of practice," said Motley Rice co-founder Joe Rice.
The Legal 500 United States also named Motley Rice in its 2012 Litigation edition in the area of Mass Tort and Class Action: Plaintiff Representation- Toxic Tort, highlighting specific casework that includes the firm's role in the Deepwater Horizon oil spill litigation. Individual members Ron Motley, Joe Rice, John Herrick and Anne McGinness Kearse were also recommended individually. The Legal 500 United States is an independent resource guide that bases its rankings on a combination of work complexity and leadership; types of clients; reputation; presence in the legal field; and feedback gathered from surveys of more than 100,000 in-house counsel and other lawyers.
