AAJ Resolution Tribute: Honors the life and service of Ronald L. Motley

The AAJ is hosting a memorial service in honor of Motley on Monday, Feb. 10, 2014 during its 2014 AAJ Winter Convention in New Orleans.

During the 2013 American Association for Justice fall board meeting, the association’s Board of Governors presented a resolution “Honoring the Life and Service of Ronald L. Motley.” The firm’s co-founding member passed away in August and was an active and dedicated member of the AAJ for nearly 40 years.

The resolution states that “Ron Motley was one of the great trial lawyer pioneers of the past half century” and referenced many of his causes and work, including engaging the civil justice system to bankrupt terrorism and establishing the legal liability of tobacco companies and asbestos manufactures.

Through the resolution, “members of the American Association for Justice express their heartfelt appreciation for the life and work of Ron Motley and extend their deepest sympathy to his beloved family.”
