Anne McGinness Kearse Named A Best Lawyers® 2016 “Lawyer of the Year”
Motley Rice LLC member attorney Anne McGinness Kearse (DC, SC, WV) has been recognized by Best Lawyers® as a 2016 “Lawyer of the Year” in Charleston, S.C., for her work on behalf of plaintiffs in mass tort litigation/class actions. Best Lawyers lists are compiled based on a peer-review evaluation.
Anne has worked with victims of mesothelioma and other asbestos-related diseases, standing up for workers against corporations that allowed employees as well as their families, to be exposed to potentially deadly asbestos fibers, and was instrumental in helping develop the firm’s environmental and occupational practices. Today, she focuses her practice on helping people coping with permanent and serious injuries caused by corporate negligence. Through this work, she advocates for higher safety standards in product manufacturing, representing those who have been injured by defective products.
Only one attorney in each designated metropolitan area and practice area is recognized as “Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers®.
“I am humbled to be selected by my peers to be included on such a prestigious list, one that many of my mentors and peers have also been recognized for,” said Motley Rice member Anne McGinness Kearse. “Working for the rights of consumers has always been my passion and I am grateful to have the opportunity to work each day for causes I believe in.”
Anne graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law and from Syracuse University. She is currently the Vice President of the Public Justice Foundation, a non-profit focused on protecting people and the environment and increasing access to justice.
