Plaintiffs Firm Trailblazers: National Law Journal recognizes co-founder Joe Rice and attorney Michael Elsner

In its premiere issue of Litigation Trailblazers & Pioneers, the National Law Journal recognized both Motley Rice co-founder Joe Rice and member Michael Elsner as people who have "shown a deep passion and perseverance in pursuit of their mission, having achieved remarkable success along the way."

Of the 50 people recognized by the National Law Journal, Motley Rice was the only plaintiffs’ firm to have multiple attorneys included on the list.

"It's a great honor to be recognized by the National Law Journal for our ongoing efforts in advocating for our clients and causes alongside other respected litigation and legal professionals,” said Motley Rice co-founder Joe Rice. “Throughout our firm’s history, it has been our consistent focus to pursue litigation that creates change. We are driven by a passion for pursuing justice for those that would not otherwise have had their story heard.”

Elsner added, “It is an honor to be recognized after our decade-long fight seeking justice for terrorism victims in their suit against Arab Bank. It is the first time a financial institution has been held liable for knowingly and intentionally financing terrorism. There is much more to do to hold those responsible for terrorist financing and we look forward to continuing the fight.”

Nominees to the National Law Journal's "Top 50 Trailblazers & Pioneers" for 2014 were selected by a group of their legal peers, and honorees were recognized as having "a major stake in the ground" and "advocating strongly for their causes."
