Ron Motley Honored: Motley Rice co-founder recognized by Best Lawyers

Ronald L. Motley honored as one of Best Lawyers'® 2012 Lawyers of the Year

Motley Rice co-founder Ron Motley was named the "Charleston-SC Mass Tort Litigation/Class Actions- Plaintiffs "Lawyer of the Year" for 2012 by Best Lawyers®, the oldest publication in the legal profession honoring lawyers based on evaluations by their professional peers. Only one lawyer in each practice area and community is honored as the 2012 "Lawyer of the Year."

Ron Motley garnered global recognition for groundbreaking work fighting such corporate giants as the asbestos and tobacco industries. With a career spanning nearly 40 years, he has since committed his career to serving as a tireless advocate for the rights of those harmed by wrongdoing and negligence, both at home and abroad. Ron is known for his legal skills and tenacity in the courtroom and has continued to pursue complex civil litigation against daunting opponents, including alleged terrorist financiers in a lawsuit filed nearly a decade ago on behalf of more than 6,500 survivors,  family members and those who lost their lives in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Best Lawyers® is a peer-review publication that compiles its list of select lawyers by conducting  extensive surveys in which thousands of lawyers confidentially evaluate their peers in the legal profession. Those honored as "Lawyers of the Year" received particularly high ratings by "earning a high level of respect among their peers for their abilities, professionalism and integrity."

Ron was also recently named in the publication's 18th edition of The Best Lawyers in America® 2012 (personal injury litigation-plaintiffs, product liability litigation and mass tort litigation/class actions-plaintiffs), a designation based on more than 3.9 million peer evaluations. The list and selection methodology are available on the Best Lawyers® website.
