Motley Rice LLC invites the community to join its efforts

Motley Rice is proudly supporting a diverse group of charitable organizations through both monetary and supply donations. The firm invites members of the Charleston community to participate and help give back to those in need this holiday season. Books, clothes, non-perishable food, pet supplies, travel-size toiletries and diapers can be dropped off at 28 Bridgeside Blvd. in Mt. Pleasant from Dec. 1 to Dec. 16, 2011.

"All of us at Motley Rice strongly believe in protecting and helping those less fortunate than ourselves and contributing to organizations that help our community thrive. We are fortunate to have had active participation in our previous holiday giving efforts and are excited about the opportunity to help make a difference again this year," said Michael Elsner, Motley Rice lawyer and charitable committee chairman.

Adult and children's books and magazines will benefit a local nursing home, a children's learning center and Operation Paperback, which supplies books to military troops deployed overseas. Clothes for both men and women will be donated to East Cooper Community Outreach's Stop Poverty Project. Canned and other non-perishable food items will help nourish the many served by Crisis Ministries. All types of pet supplies, including office goods for adoptions, benefit Pet Helpers of Charleston. The toiletries and diapers will go to Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach Services.

Firm employees are also sponsoring numerous children through an Adopt an Angel Project benefitting Dee Norton Lowcountry Children's Center, the Department of Social Services' HALOS program, the Carolina Youth Development Center and Ashleigh Place Home in Barnwell, S.C.
