Pinewood Prep Lawsuit: ReVille victim files civil lawsuit alleging gross negligence

On December 12, 2011, Motley Rice filed a lawsuit against Pinewood Preparatory School and its former headmaster Glyn Cowlishaw on behalf of an alleged sexual abuse victim of Charleston-area teacher and coach Louis "Skip" ReVille.

ReVille held multiple teaching, coaching and volunteer positions in the Charleston area. Those include:

  • Bishop England High School
  • The Citadel
  • Coastal Christian Preparatory School
  • Eastbridge Presbyterian Church
  • Moultrie Middle School, Rollings Middle School
  • Mt. Pleasant Recreation Department
  • Velocity Sports Performance

In an interview with ABC 4 News, in Charleston, S.C., Marlon Kimpson, an attorney for the victim, said the litigation will bring to light failures in Pinewood's policies and procedures that enabled ReVille to allegedly abuse the victim. "All of our efforts will be focused on making sure this type of activity never occurs in a school again," said Kimpson.

The victim alleges that from 2004 until ReVille was no longer employed by Pinewood Prep, ReVille subjected him to sexually abusive behaviors numerous times. Attorney Laura Khare told FOX News 24, also in Charleston, there is evidence that the school's administration knew about behavioral concerns as early as 2005.

Motley Rice sexual abuse lawyer David Hoyle further discussed the sexual abuse lawsuit and the conspiracy of silence that may have enable ReVille's abuse with WSC Radio in Charleston.
