Asbestos Awareness Week: ADAO kicks off national and global campaigns

April 1 - April 7, 2012, marks Global Asbestos Awareness Week, an international campaign spearheaded by the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) to reduce the use of asbestos around the world and advocate for the rights of asbestos exposure victims.

This week aims to help those suffering from mesothelioma and other asbestos-related diseases by educating the public and private sectors about the devastating effects of asbestos exposure. Global Asbestos Awareness Week was also recently designated by the U.S. Senate as National Asbestos Awareness Week thanks to the tireless efforts of ADAO, U.S. Senator Max Baucus and supporters such as Motley Rice.

In addition to supporting ADAO's conference, Motley Rice has the honor and privilege of sponsoring the day of April 5 during Global and National Asbestos Awareness Week, a day that specifically recognizes the importance of workers' safety. The firm will hold a special Asbestos Awareness Luncheon on this day, inviting colleagues, co-counsel, physicians and clients and their families to help promote the cause.
