Motley Rice Cares: Focuses on local community this season

Attorneys and staff support a variety of holiday projects in the Lowcountry

MT. PLEASANT, SC - Motley Rice LLC is contributing to eight local organizations this December through monetary and supply donations from employees, colleagues and friends in the community.

"This holiday season we want to continue to give back to the community that has strongly supported us over the years," said Motley Rice attorney Michael Elsner, chair of the firm's charitable committee. "We strive to be an organization that helps and protects people and are proud to support the good being done locally, especially during the holiday season.

Again this year, Motley Rice is a collection site for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Foundation and is additionally selling cookbooks to raise money that will go towards purchasing toys. Efforts are also in place to gather various supplies for Our Lady of Mercy outreach services, East Cooper Community Outreach food drive and Pet Helpers adoption and rescue shelter.

Employees are also sponsoring numerous children through the Motley Rice Adopt an Angel project benefiting Dee Norton Lowcountry Children's Center, the Department of Social Services' HALOS program, the Carolina Youth Development Center and the Ashleigh Place Home in Barnwell, SC.

Motley Rice encourages fellow community members who wish to contribute to these charities to drop the following items off at the Mt. Pleasant office at 28 Bridgeside Blvd.

  • New or gently used dog or cat toys
  • New or gently used towels or blankets
  • New, unwrapped toys

  • Puppy or kitten food
  • Salad dressing
  • Size 3, 4 and 5 diapers
  • Toilet paper
  • Tooth brushes
