RIAJ President Announced: Attorney Vin Greene sworn in as Rhode Island Association for Justice President
Vin Greene, Motley Rice LLC member attorney, was sworn in as president of the Rhode Island Association for Justice.
Greene, an asbestos attorney in Motley Rice’s Rhode Island office, began his legal career working on the landmark litigation against the tobacco industry. He has played an active role in helping to defeat tort reform legislation in Rhode Island regarding victims of lead paint exposure. Vin also represents workers and families suffering from mesothelioma and other asbestos-related diseases as a result of occupational, environmental or household exposure.
“I’m both humbled and honored to accept this leadership position with the Rhode Island Association for Justice. I’ve been privileged to be involved with this group for many years and plan to continue our many outreach programs as well as actively work to grow our membership during my term,” said Greene.
The RIAJ’s mission is to “preserve the constitutional right to trial by jury . . . strengthen the civil justice system through education . . . safeguard consumers' rights . . . promote the public good through efforts to secure safe products, a safe workplace, a clean environment, and quality health care . . . uphold and defend the constitutions of the United States of America and the State of Rhode Island.”
The RIAJ presidential oath was administered by Rhode Island Superior Court Judge Alice Bridget Gibney before an audience that included U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.), U.S. Congressmen David Cicilline and James Langevin, and U.S. District Court Judge John “Jack” McConnell.
