Veterans Day 2011: Thank you to veterans past and present

Americans all over the world will honor the sacrifice, courage and commitment of our veterans on Friday, Nov. 11, 2011. Originated as Armistice Day, it is celebrated on the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month.

"The brave men and women who serve and protect our nation come from all walks of life; they are parents, children, and grandparents.  They are friends, neighbors, and coworkers, and an important part of our communities," said Joe Rice, co-founder of Motley Rice LLC.

"Over the years, we have had the distinct privilege of representing thousands of veterans in cases ranging from asbestos-related lung cancer and mesothelioma cases to lawsuits arising from burn pit injuries from the Gulf Wars," Rice said. "We are committed to speaking out to ensure that our government provides for veterans who are injured through their service.  In addition, we are committed to speaking out for veterans who are injured through the negligent conduct of civilian contractors and suppliers."

On this Veterans Day, join us as we honor the more than 23 million military men and women who have served our country, and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
