Antidepressant Medication Litigation: Motley Rice member appointed to Plaintiffs' Steering Committee
Motley Rice attorney Kimberly Barone Baden has been appointed to serve as a member of the Plaintiffs' Steering Committee (PSC) in the In re Zoloft (sertraline hydrochloride) Products Liability Litigation, MDL 2342.
Barone Baden was appointed by Judge Cynthia M. Rufe in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania on July 13, 2012. As a committee member, Barone Baden holds a central role in the coordination of all plaintiffs' cases in the litigation.
The MDL involves people who used the antidepressant Zoloft during pregnancy and gave birth to children who have suffered birth defects. The plaintiffs claim that the warning label for Zoloft® does not adequately convey the risks of taking the antidepressant while pregnant. Pfizer, Inc., manufactures Zoloft.
