9/11 Client Message: Motley says 'I want you to know we are still with you'

To: 9/11 Families United to Bankrupt Terrorism

For the last nine years, it has been my privilege and honor to represent you - the over 6,000 family members pursuing justice against the supporters and sponsors of Osama bin Laden, al Qaeda and the atrocities of 9/11.  On August 15, 2002, together we formed the 9/11 Families United to Bankrupt Terrorism and filed Thomas E. Burnett, Sr., et al. v. Al Baraka Investment and Development Corporation, et al., (DDC).

Today, in honor of your sacrifices and unswerving dedication to justice, I would like to take a moment to reflect upon the news of the death of Osama bin Laden in a raid conducted by American forces in Pakistan on Sunday.

First, I would like to thank you for the exemplary way in which you have handled the tragedy, losses and adversity of the cowardly and horrific attacks of 9/11.  You have shown the American public and the world the resiliency and burning determination you have for achieving justice.  We are all honored by your efforts.

Second, I would like to congratulate President Obama and the American men and women who accomplished this important milestone.  They have fought, and continue to fight, against terrorism that affects all nations and people but that has especially affected you so deeply and personally.  We remain sorrowed by your losses.

And most importantly, while the nation celebrates this moment, I want you to know that we are still with you.  This moment is truly important, but the fight for justice goes on.  The horrific events of 9/11 and the continued existence of the al Qaeda terror network were brought about not just by one person, but also by the many others who gave money and other resources to support that cause and who have yet to be called to account.  I know that you do not waver in that struggle for justice and accountability and that inspires me and my firm to do the same.

Together we have uncovered information and evidence key to establishing accountability for the 9/11 attacks and to preventing future acts of terrorism.  Your voices, the voices of mothers, fathers, wives husbands and children of those killed, and those of you injured and scarred, are an essential weapon in fighting to prevent anyone else from ever again facing such horror.

This is a truly momentous day.  It is momentous not just because of the American forces that accomplished their task for all people seeking peace in this world.  It is also momentous in demonstrating to the world the leadership of a people in great sorrow and the even greater determination and resolve in your pursuit of the truth and justice.

My thoughts are with you today.

Respectfully,

Ron Motley and the Motley Rice 9/11 Team
