Asbestos Litigation Outlook: 11 judges to attend national asbestos conference co-chaired by Joe Rice

Motley Rice co-founder Joe Rice and asbestos attorney Anne McGinness Kearse will join 11 judges and hundreds of attorneys from across the country this Sept. 8–10, 2014, in San Francisco for Perrin Conferences’ annual Asbestos Litigation Conference: A National Overview & Outlook.

Along with serving as one of the conference’s five co-chairs, Rice will participate in three panel discussions concerning asbestos bankruptcy, compensation and mass tort law. Kearse will serve on the discussion panel for “Ethics: Product Identification in Asbestos Litigation.” This is the fifth consecutive year that Rice has been selected to chair or co-chair this national conference.

The conference, which takes a comprehensive and independent approach to open discussion through a multi-disciplinary panel format, includes not only members of the court system and plaintiff and defense attorneys, but also risk managers, doctors, insurance companies, clients and others impacted by the present and prospective state of asbestos litigation.

All 11 judges are expected to join in the majority of discussion panels—the overall format of the three-day conference—with each panel representing a broad range of U.S. regions as well as applicable industry representatives.
