Lawyer of the Year: MA and RI Weekly honor Don Migliori

Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly has named Motley Rice member Don Migliori among its 2011 Lawyers of the Year. Migliori was recognized for his role as co-lead plaintiffs' counsel and liaison counsel for the Composix® Kugel ®Mesh MDL, representing thousands of clients alleging serious injury or complication related to the hernia patch in Rhode Island District Court's first multidistrict litigation.

Migliori was also noted for his work serving as liaison counsel for the families who declined to participate in the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund to seek greater answers, accountability and recourse. Representing 56 of those 96 claimants, he and his fellow lawyers settled the last remaining wrongful death lawsuit in 2011, Bavis v. United Airlines Corporation et al., filed by the family of Mark Bavis, a passenger on United Flight 175.

Don was also recently selected to the 2011 Lawyers of the Year list by Rhode Island Lawyers Weekly.

Don and other 2011 Lawyers of the Year will be recognized for their "outstanding professional accomplishments" at the annual Leaders in Law event being held Thursday, March 8, 2012, in Boston, Mass.
