Family of firefighter sues sofa store

Motley Rice attorney Kevin Dean comments on a lawsuit recently filed by the family of Mark Kelsey against the Sofa Super Store and other companies in connection with the June 18, 2007 fire that killed nine Charleston, SC firefighters. Kelsey was among the nine who perished, and the wrongful death lawsuit alleging negligence was filed in Charleston County on behalf of his estate against the Sofa Super Store; its owners, Herb Goldstein and his family companies; Feltmann & Associates Inc.; Conklin Company Inc.; and DuPont Performance Elastomers LLC. His family is among the last to have filed a lawsuit against these entities in connection with the 2007 fire.
