Motley Rice litigation teams and attorneys claim honors in four different legal awards

2024 Southeastern Legal Awards

Overseen by Law.com and Daily Report, the Southeastern Legal Awards aim to honor legal organizations and individuals who bring the industry to “the next level.” Hundreds of submissions are received then whittled down to the small percentage of winners. Learn more about the methodology.

The Motley Rice securities fraud litigation team was awarded Litigation Department of the Year in the securities division. This award recognizes law firms excelling in specific litigation areas. Motley Rice’s securities team represents a variety of institutional investors in complex litigation including securities fraud, shareholder derivative actions, corporate takeover litigation.

In addition to that team award, Motley Rice attorney Grace Chandler was named an “On the Rise” honoree. This honor acknowledges individuals under 40 who exhibit innovation, carve out distinctive practice areas, build substantial business portfolios, demonstrate strong leadership, excel in litigation or transactional work, and actively engage in professional and or personal volunteer efforts.

Chambers USA’s  2024 guide covers all 50 states and Washington D.C., providing nationwide rankings for the attorneys and departments listed.

Motley Rice is one of only three firms nationally ranked as Band 1 in the USA – Nationwide: Product Liability: Plaintiffs category. Firm co-founder Joe Rice is ranked Band 1 in the category. Fidelma Fitzpatrick and Donald Migliori are ranked Band 2 and Carmen Scott is ranked Band 4. Chambers USA ranks lawyers and law firms based on several factors and considerations, including its own research and interviews with clients and lawyers alike in addition to reviewing submissions provided by the law firms. Individual lawyers are ranked in their practice area(s) based on their legal knowledge, experience, ability, effectiveness, and their client service. An individual lawyer can be ranked while their law firm is not, and vice versa.

According to Chambers USA, the 2024 guide features nearly more than 10,000 department rankings including more than 1,800 ranked firms and more than 26,200 ranked lawyers. Lawdragon 500 Global Plaintiff Lawyers

Lawdragon is a media company that produces lawyer guides and news-focused, no-paywall content. 

Thirteen Motley Rice attorneys were named to the 2024 Lawdragon 500 Global Plaintiff Lawyers list. A variety of litigation areas were represented among these attorneys ranging from aviation and antitrust to human rights and whistleblower.

Lawdragon states its selection process is research and reporting based, and that they “research each guide extensively, studying which lawyers and law practices have had significant impact, including an emphasis on recent matters handled. We review cutting-edge litigation, as well as trends in plaintiff/claimant law and practice.
