U.S. District Judge Manish S. Shah appointed Motley Rice antitrust attorney Michelle Clerkin to the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee for Volatility Index (VIX) multidistrict litigation, In re: Chicago Board Options Exchange Volatility Index Manipulation Antitrust Litigation, MDL No. 1:18-cv-04171, in the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division. Michelle is one of four attorneys on the PSC, which is charged with consulting with Plaintiffs’ co-lead counsel in coordinating pre-trial activities and planning for trial.
Plaintiffs in the MDL seek to hold several trading firms and financial institutions accountable for allegedly manipulating the pricing of VIX-linked financial instruments.
