Mike Daly

Mike Daly brings substantial experience representing clients harmed by defective products, pharmaceutical drugs, medical devices, toxic substances, and corporate negligence in complex litigation.

Throughout his career, Mike has represented individuals across the country in mass tort and complex injury claims. Early in his career, he served as bellwether counsel on several medically related MDLs including Testosterone Replacement Therapy, Mentor pelvic mesh, GranuFlo® dialysate, and Zofran® birth injury. Additionally, Mike led his firm’s efforts in the Elmiron® vision loss mass tort that was pending in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.

Prior to joining Motley Rice, Mike was a plaintiffs’ litigator at an international civil law firm for a decade, most recently serving as managing partner of its Philadelphia office. His work has resulted in millions of dollars in recovery for individuals harmed by dangerous products and corporate negligence both in the U.S. and abroad. His early work as a healthcare litigation lawyer representing medical facilities and healthcare professionals in civil liability cases has provided an additional dimension to his knowledge of these types of litigations.

Mike is co-lead counsel of the Johnson & Johnson (J&J) and Ethicon hernia mesh mass tort multicounty litigations (MCL) in New Jersey. He also recently served as lead counsel on behalf of hundreds of individuals in the Injectafer® intravenous iron lawsuits pending in Philadelphia state and federal court. Beyond medical litigation, Mike has also managed ligation for hundreds of plaintiffs harmed by Monsanto’s herbicide Roundup® and led his former law firm’s Section 1782 practice group that secured U.S.-based discovery in some of the largest foreign litigations in the world, working hand-in-hand with foreign law firms and litigants. He also serves on the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Complex Litigation Center’s Mass Tort Working Committee.

Beyond litigation, Mike is a frequent guest speaker on mass torts and product liability issues at seminars in the U.S. and abroad. He is a frequent lecturer at American Association for Justice (AAJ), Harris Martin, and Perrin conferences, and has also lectured at a mass torts conference held at Oxford University. Mike is the co-founder and former co-chair of AAJ’s Hernia Mesh litigation group and co-founder of the Ozempic litigation group.
