South Carolina Black Lawyers' Association asks Motley Rice member Marlon Kimpson to speak at annual meeting

Motley Rice lawyer Marlon Kimpson has been invited to speak at the South Carolina Black Lawyers' Association's annual meeting and retreat being held Thursday, September 30, 2010 - Saturday, October 2, 2010 at the Columbia Marriot in  Columbia, SC. The retreat will cover topics that include:

  • Civil Practice: Taking Depositions
  • Criminal Law
  • Employment Law
  • Ethics: General Session
  • Family Law
  • Foreclosure in the Practice of Family, Real Estate & Probate Law
  • Law Office Management
  • Workman's Compensation Law

Kimpson will be speaking on Saturday as a panelist for a symposium entitled Preparing a New Generation of Lawyers to Become Tomorrow's Champions for Justice.

The South Carolina Black Lawyers' Association is a statewide organization that "promotes the development of attorneys of color throughout the state...seeks to address injustice by serving as a redress conduit, improving legal services and providing a voice for the community through advocacy, mentoring, professionalism and coalition building."
