Public Funds Summit: Securities attorney presenting on trustee fiduciary responsibility
Motley Rice securities attorney and member Marlon Kimpson will serve as panelist and guest speaker discussing the fiduciary duties of pension trustees and the importance of litigation in protecting plan assets at the OPAL Financial Group's annual Public Funds Summit. The conference is being held at the Phoenician in Scottsdale, Ariz. and will last from Jan. 12 - 14, 2011.
The summit will address concerns that are crucial to the investment success of senior public pension fund officers and trustees in the coming year. Focusing on education, the summit is designed to provide a distinctive environment in which members of the public sector are able to exchange ideas and learn from others in their field.
Some of the topics covered at this year's summit will include:
- Surplus returns and how they should affect employee benefit plans
- Examining the process for selecting and evaluating investment managers
- Investigating legal concerns with management policies and fund investment
