Motley Rice is ‘Highly Recommended’ in 2017 Benchmark Litigation Guide

The 2017 edition of Benchmark Litigation was released, distinguishing Motley Rice and multiple firm attorneys in the 10th annual guide.

For the 6th consecutive year, Motley Rice was rated as a “Highly Recommended” local firm in South Carolina for plaintiff litigation work completed during the 2016 qualifying period, including the transvaginal mesh and Arab Bank litigations. Motley Rice was one of only seven firms in the state to receive the rating.

“Founded in Charleston in 2003, Motley Rice has since blossomed to the status of a nationally recognized plaintiff powerhouse in a relatively short period of time,” stated the Benchmark Litigation report.

“Motley Rice is everywhere now, but they still are known very well locally. When it comes to plaintiff firms, they are at the top,” a Benchmark survey respondent commented.

In addition, three Motley Rice attorneys were selected as “State Litigation Stars” for 2017:

  • Mike Elsner in South Carolina for general commercial; product liability, personal injury, professional liability
  • Nate Finch in the District of Columbia for bankruptcy, general commercial, white collar crime/enforcement investigations, creditor’s rights
  • Joe Rice in South Carolina for general commercial; product liability, personal injury

According to Benchmark Litigation, the guide is a result of a months of research in which its researchers conduct interviews with litigators regarding recent casework handled by law firms and their opinion of their peers. Firms cannot pay to be recommended for the guide. Visit the Benchmark Litigation website to view the listings and learn more about the methodology.
