Motley Rice LLC welcomed nine talented law students all representing different law schools for its 2025 summer law clerk program. The program is designed for students who have completed their second year of law school, providing hands-on experience with legal work across the firm’s practice groups.
Each clerk is paired with an associate attorney mentor who guides them through the program. Assignments include document review, legal research, deposition transcription, drafting pleadings, discovery requests and observing court proceedings, among other tasks. This summer clerks are working in the firm’s Connecticut; Washington, D.C.; South Carolina; and Rhode Island offices.
“Mentorship and real-world experience are at the heart of what we aim to provide these promising law students. We give them meaningful opportunities to contribute to cases that matter,” said Margaret Scalise Johnson, associate attorney, and chair of the Motley Rice summer law clerk program. “Our goal is to foster talent, strengthen their skills and instill the next generation of legal advocates with a commitment to justice and the public good.”
The 2025 program is being led by Margaret Scalise Johnson, with oversight and support from Chelsea Monroe and Laura Stemkowski.
