Public Pension Funds: Investors come together to discuss current issues facing funds

Motley Rice securities attorneys Marlon Kimpson and Badge Humphries will travel to the Big Easy from Sept. 16-18 to attend the 2012 Louisiana Association of Public Employees' Retirement Systems (LAPERS) seminar. Designed for Louisiana public retirement systems' trustees and administrative staff, the seminar is also a learning opportunity for others that have a fiduciary duty to any state, municipal, or local retirement fund.

It is important for public pension fund trustees to pay attention to current issues in funds, including those that will be discussed at LAPERS, such as ethics, fiduciary duty and corporate governance. Attending seminars such as LAPERS helps trustees to stay informed, allowing them to make knowledgeable decisions regarding their funds.
