Anne McGinness Kearse named 2016-2017 Public Justice President

On July 26, 2016, Motley Rice member attorney Anne McGinness Kearse was welcomed as the newest Public Justice President.

Public Justice is a national public interest law firm that fights against injustices and is supported by the Public Justice Foundation, a nonprofit organization. Public Justice employs more than 10 attorneys as well as several staff members. As President, Anne will work to lead, maintain and advocate Public Justice’s mission, pursuing high impact lawsuits to combat social and economic injustice, protect the Earth’s sustainability and challenge predatory corporate conduct and government abuses.

“I am excited and honored to be the President of an organization that is dedicated to the pursuit of justice and creating change in the lives of people and communities throughout the country,” said Anne. “Our members are the lifeblood of the organization and are comprised of trial lawyers, appellate lawyers, consumer advocates, environmental lawyers, employment lawyers, civil rights attorneys, class action specialists, law professors, students and others who are dedicated to taking a stand against injustice."

She continued, "Since joining Public Justice, I continue to be inspired by the organization’s work. In the coming year I welcome new opportunities for collaboration and for the organization to continue to grow and evolve.”

Anne focuses her practice at Motley Rice on workers’ rights, seeking to hold corporations accountable for toxic exposures, including asbestos, radiation and chemical flavorings. She is also actively involved in representing people who have suffered burns and other catastrophic injuries and wrongful death from negligence and defective products.
