Before joining Motley Rice, Michelle worked for a large global law firm on healthcare-related matters involving government investigations and regulatory compliance. Her experience included evaluating medical and scientific literature, preparing witness and investigative materials, and conducting legal analyses to support negotiations with federal agencies and prosecutors. Michelle has also contributed to public interest advocacy through her work on immigration, post-conviction, and First Amendment matters.

During her studies at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, Michelle was recognized for her legal advocacy and received the Volunteer of the Year Award and the Exemplary Pro Bono Service Award. Michelle participated in the Advocacy for Racial and Civil Justice Clinic, where she worked alongside attorneys with a depth of experience on litigation and policy issues. She completed two internships at a large global law firm, focusing on complex health-care related matters. In addition to her law studies, Michelle earned a Masters in Bioethics from the Perelman School of Medicine, providing her with extensive training in healthcare systems, clinical decision-making, and medical and scientific literature interpretation. Prior to law school, Michelle worked at a healthcare-related non-profit.
