Burn pit exposure resulting in constrictive bronchiolitis among soldiers according to civilian doctor
Dr. Robert Miller, associate professor of allergy, pulmonary and critical care medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, has diagnosed multiple patients with constrictive bronchiolitis who have also been exposed to burn pits. After learning that his patients would be transferred to Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX, Miller expressed concern that the transfer could potentially hinder communication to the public about the hazards that may be related to burn pit exposure.
In addition, Miller said that his findings regarding a link between constrictive bronchiolitis and burn pit toxins were removed in April 2010 from the training letter that the US. Department of Veterans Affairs distributed to address environmental hazards in Iraq, Afghanistan and other military locations.
