AIEF Israel Seminar: Motley Rice member travels with other leaders interested in U.S.-Israel relations

Motley Rice member attends AIEF Educational Seminar in Israel

MT. PLEASANT, SC - (Feb. 25, 2013) - Motley Rice member and securities fraud attorney Marlon Kimpson (SC) recently attended the American Israel Education Foundation (AIEF) Educational Seminar for African American Leaders in Israel. One of a group comprised of about 20 elected officials, community leaders and activists interested in learning more about U.S.-Israel relations, Kimpson traveled from Feb. 2 to 10, 2013. The seminar included informational briefings with experts and governmental officials complemented by visits to historical, religious and other political and cultural sites.

"It was a tremendous honor to be invited to participate in such an educational and enriching event," said Kimpson. "To visit Israel with this organization was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I came away with a far greater understanding of this special country, as well as developed some valuable new relationships."

Building upon Motley Rice's work with unions and governmental entities, Kimpson helps unions, state and municipality pension funds and other institutional investors better identify potential securities fraud, recover funds and improve corporate governance through securities, deal and derivative litigation. He represents victims of corporate malfeasance, from investors in securities and consumer fraud cases to those injured or killed in aviation disasters and other catastrophic incidents.

Kimpson joined Motley Rice in 2000 and has played an integral role in developing the firm's securities fraud, catastrophic injury, aviation and asbestos practice groups. A frequent speaker, Kimpson has presented at seminars and conferences across the country. His work in the legal field was recognized by Benchmark Plaintiff, The Definitive Guide to America's Leading Plaintiff Firms & Attorneys, which named Kimpson in 2012 as a "Litigation Star" in its national rankings for mass tort/product liability and, in both 2012 and 2013, as a "Local Litigation Star" in its South Carolina rankings in environmental, mass tort and securities. An active member of his community, he has held leadership roles with the University of South Carolina Board of Visitors and the South Carolina Election Commission and was a member of the Board of Directors for the Peggy Browning Fund. Kimpson is a lifetime member of the NAACP and a member of the American Association for Justice, National Bar Association, South Carolina Association for Justice, Sigma Pi Phi Boulé and Omega Psi Phi fraternity.
