Motley Rice LLC member Marlon Kimpson inducted into prestigious Sigma Pi Phi fraternity
Motley Rice LLC, one of the nation's largest plaintiffs' litigation firms, announces the induction of member Marlon E. Kimpson into the prestigious Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity. Kimpson joins some of the most renowned and influential African-American men in the country to serve the elite organization's mission to enhance the quality of life for all African-Americans and their communities.
Exemplifying both the professional and community achievement for which the Sigma Pi Phi members are known, Kimpson has played a significant role in the firm's client development and relations and been integral to the development of its catastrophic injury, aviation and securities fraud practice groups. He also builds upon the firm's relationships with unions and governmental entities and has been active in several noteworthy class action and mass tort cases. Frequently appearing in the media, Kimpson is often a guest speaker at continuing education events and has been widely recognized for his service to the community.
Kimpson has held leadership roles with the Palmetto Project, the Charleston Black Lawyers Association, The Peggy Browning Fund and the South Carolina Election Commission. His combination of professional achievement and community involvement earned him a spot on the 2005 Charleston Regional Business Journal's Forty Under 40 list. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Carolina Youth Development Center and is a Presidential Appointee to the University of South Carolina Board of Visitors. Kimpson is a member of the AAJ Convention Planning Committee, the American Bar Association, and the South Carolina Association for Justice.
