At Charleston City Council on Tuesday, Sept. 24, Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr., read a proclamation that officially declared September 26 as Mesothelioma Awareness Day in the City of Charleston, S.C. Mayor Riley also dedicated the proclamation to Motley Rice co-founder Ron Motley, a pioneer in asbestos litigation, who passed away on Aug. 22, 2013.
