Charter flight crashes in Akron, Ohio

A Hawker H25 private business jet crashed into a residential building in Akron, Ohio at approximately 3 pm ET on Tuesday, Nov. 10. Seven passengers and the two pilots were killed. The charter flight was operated by Execuflight, Inc., based in Southern Florida. All of the passengers were employees of Pebb Enterprises, a real estate investment company from Boca Raton, Fl. No one on the ground has been reported injured.

The plane was in its final approach to Akron Fulton International Airport when it crashed. Flight records show the plane departed from Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport in Dayton, Ohio and was only two miles away from the Akron airport. Weather conditions were reported as fair.

The National Transportation Safety Board has launched an investigation. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time. Witnesses report hearing unusual engine noises and seeing the plane strike electrical wires or poles.
