Motley Rice attorneys to present on chemical flavoring and potential worker risks during National COSH webinar
Motley Rice is collaborating with the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health to raise awareness about the potential dangers of chemical flavoring exposure in the workplace. During a webinar hosted by the National COSH on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2016, Motley Rice attorneys Anne McGinness Kearse and Scott Hall will discuss the link between chemical flavorings, lung disease and other potential dangers with worker safety leaders and advocates from throughout the country. The webinar is free to join by computer, tablet or smartphone.
Toxic exposure attorneys Anne and Scott have experience representing workers and consumers with lung-related health issues, including workers who have suffered effects related to diacetyl and other airborne flavoring chemicals that are commonly found in baked goods, flavored coffee, candy, pet food, “vaped” flavored e-cigarettes, microwave popcorn and other products. Diseases associated with chemical flavoring exposure include lung-related diseases including bronchiolitis obliterans, emphysema, asthma and other complications.
Also joining them on the webinar are University of California, San Francisco Occupational Health Services Director Robert Harrison, MD, MPH, and Mark Nicas, PhD, MPH, CIH, an adjunct professor and director of the Industrial Hygiene Program at the University of California Berkeley’s Department of Environmental Health Sciences. They will discuss medical and regulatory issues related to flavoring exposure and share workplace safety information.
