Airbus mid-air engine failure prompts Qantas airline to ground Airbus A380 fleet
On Thursday, November 4, 2010, an airliner flying above the western Indonesian island of Batam suffered a failure of one of its four engines approximately six minutes after takeoff from Singapore's Changi Airport. Qantas flight QF32, carrying 440 passengers and 26 crew members, was forced to make an emergency landing in Changi but safely landed with no injury to those on board.
Qantas,a national airline based in Australia, has grounded its Airbus A380 jumbo jetliners until a thorough investigation has been completed.
