Court issues order setting status conference to address remaining 9/11 litigation

On September 10, 2010, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, plaintiff Mary Bavis requested a status conference to consider an appropriate case management order for trial in Bavis v. United Airlines, Inc., a case under In re September 11 Litigation. On September 17, 2010, World Trade Center Properties LLC (WTCP), also a plaintiff in the litigation, wrote the Court to support Bavis' request and asked that their two cases against United Airlines and American Airlines be consolidated in the trial.

The Honorable Alvin K. Hellerstein issued an order on Monday, September 20, 2010, setting a status conference for Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. to plan for pretrial activities and set a trial date. The status conference will also consider whether trial should be limited to Mary Bavis' case or whether WTCP's cases should be consolidated.
