On Thursday, June 27, 2013, U.S. Rep. Tim Bishop (D-NY) and Congresswoman Diana DeGette (D-CO) announced a proposed bill, the Helping Veterans Exposed to Toxic Chemicals Act, to address and study the health issues of veterans who were exposed to open-air burn pits in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Veterans’ Input Requested: The VA extends deadline for Burn Pit Registry input

The Department of Veterans Affairs and the Veterans Health Administration announced earlier this week that they are extending the deadline for comments and recommendations on the proposed collection of information for the Open Burn Pit Registry. The new deadline is Aug. 30, 2013.
